Our Climate and Atmospheric Science branch is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Project Officer, Knowledge Broker to co-design and co-deliver knowledge brokering strategies and activities. The broker works closely with climate scientists, operational staff and policy makers to support the production of decision ready science. The position will lead and facilitate stakeholder engagement that helps translate science into practice.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND KEY KNOWLEDGE

  • Tertiary qualifications in science, with a strong preference for climate science, climate impacts and/or adaptation, science communications, or closely related disciplines in earth systems science, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in at least one of knowledge brokerage, science communication and data delivery
  • Proven strong knowledge, skills and experience with stakeholder engagement, communications and relationship building
  • Proven strong knowledge, skills and experience with professional scientific services and research related to climate and/or natural/earth systems sciences

We provide the core climate science that underpins the recently released NSW Adaptation Strategy. This integrates climate impact science across multiple disciplines including natural hazards, hydrological modelling, biodiversity and landscape modelling and integrated risk management.
