ABOUT US:

Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (DJCS). VSSR is responsible for the delivery and reform of services to victims of crime, placing victims at the centre of our justice system, as well as direct service provision through a range of programs including the Victims of Crime Helpline, Victims Register, the Victims Assistance Program, Child Witness Service and the Intermediary Program. VSSR is also responsible for designing and building a new administrative Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS), following on from the Victorian Law Reform Commission’s review of the current system of financial assistance for victims of crime.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Project Officer, Operational Performance works as part of a small team to lead reporting and evaluation across VSSR. The role will support a range of data reform and activities to improve operational performance across VSSR and contribute to identifying and developing key service objectives in line with policy to ensure a coordinated and informed operational approach for victims of crime across the state.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Identifying, and contributing to, operational performance reform and reporting (for example, State Budget reporting (BP3), annual reporting requirements and contributions to reviews/strategies) across VSSR.
  • Conducting high level analysis of client services information needs, including operational performance of VSSR and DJCS funded services, and use this robust evidence to provide inform management of emerging issues and risks.
  • Contributing to the development of VSSR, DJCS, and whole of government research, policy and operational initiatives affecting victims of crime through the provision of timely, accurate and comprehensive collation and analysis of operational performance related data and narrative.
