SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

• A proven track record automating the testing of UI applications in a commercial environment
• Strong manual testing experience
• Demonstratable experience of building automation frameworks
• Solid experience/knowledge of c#, Selenium and Spec Flow
• Experience of implementing CI/CD pipelines
• Self-organisation, effective planner and motivated self-learner
• Strong interpersonal skills, working with internal technical staff and stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
• Ability to investigate and evaluate new technologies

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Cypress experience
• Java Script or Type Script langage
• Ideally relevant certifications in ISTQB and Azure.
• Experience of Agile & Scrum
• Experience with other forms of automation testing, e.g. Cloud, microservices, API testing
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps would be greatly beneficial
• Experience defining, implementing or supporting software in financial services industry preferred

ROLE

You are an experienced QA engineer who will play a key role in the delivery of our roadmap across multiple products. You will be working on Star Compliance flagship product Employee Compliance of Interest, working with the QA Lead, Architect and wider team to design and implement the testing tooling and you will be working on Azure Infrastructure and you will get the opportunity to help shape Star’s testing and deployment strategy.
You will play an active part in the QA community at Star, as well as being a committed member of one of our 12 scrum teams. Star has a culture of continuous learning and improvement. We invest heavily in training of our engineers through Pluralsight and industry-relevant certifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the design, testing and deployment of a UI application on top of Azure
• Drive the automation strategy within the scrum team
• Evaluate, recommend and implement automated tooling and best practices
• Lead on improving test coverage and release velocity
• Ensure testing is automated within CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
• Play a key role in all Agile ceremonies with particular input into backlog refinement and estimations
• Look for ways to help others, whether this be through mentoring, pair programming, Lunch & Learns or other approaches to knowledge sharing
• Promote Automation as well as supporting manual testing
