The Security Business Group is looking to hire an experienced Automation Developer engineer to join the Cisco Secure Client Team. Join a dynamic team that has deployed products on over 130 million of the latest devices including Windows, macOS, Linux, iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone.
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience in testing VPN clients, firewalls, or other network security products
- Good experience and knowledge in TCP/IP and networking protocols
- Secure coding and encryption protocol experience
- Experience with performance, regression tes>ng, and automation tools
- Candidate should have a solid understanding of security concepts such as SSL, Digital Certificates, code signing, etc.
- Agile development process experience
- Anticipate performance, security, and scale issues, and advocate for changes to architectural design
- Perform risk assessments on testing decisions and identify ways to mitigate risk across different products
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of multiple domains to achieve the desired outcome
- Write functional clean code and unit tests at a level that sets the standard for coding across teams
- Influence architectural decisions with a focus on security, scalability and reliability
- Contribute to threat modeling of a product
- Design and innovate software quality assurance strategy and best practices across various levels and environments through communication with development teams and external stakeholders, leveraging software testing insight
Responsibilities:
- Define, design, and develop detailed test plans for mobile and desktop clients
- Discover defects and drive them through resolu>on
- Work well in a team environment, be highly self-motivated, and be willing to learn new skills and product features
- Actively participate in and contribute to discussions pertaining to test architecture, roadmap, and scoping
- Work collaboratively with other groups such as development, escalation, documentation, and marketing teams
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to other engineers
- Creation and con>nual enhancement of automated test suites using Python, Java, or similar languages
- Troubleshoot issues related to the entire protocol stack
- Ensure the introduction and implementation of the latest automated and exploratory testing practices within QA Engineering discipline
- Present testing insights to executive leaders and key external stakeholders
- Proactively identifies opportunities to address design flaws and advocates for the adoption of innovative solutions
- Defines best practices for test implementation and strategy
- Writes and sets the standard for functional clean code
