This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our downtown Toronto office and/or Client office at a minimum 3 days per week - subject to change at any time.

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate with key stakeholders of varying technical ability and subject matter expertise
• Work closely with the development team to decide where to build automated and manual tests, develop/create test data, construct and execute exploratory, system, regression, migration, back-end, and user acceptance tests and determine whether to create automation frameworks
• Identify automatable test cases and reduce regression test workload
• Build custom automation scripts to test repetitive tasks, create test data or regression test high value test cases
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates
• Design test approach, Develop Test Strategies and Plans
• Execute test plans, scenarios, scripts or procedures
• Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers
• Identify, analyze and document problems with program function, output, online screen or content
• Ability to analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing
• Monitor and track bug resolution efforts

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE

• Minimum 5+ years of experience working with different data sources like databases, text files, xml files, etc. in the Quality Engineering space
• Experience in onboarding new client
• Strong understanding of database systems and data warehousing concepts
• Understanding the flow of data between the systems and its Data model
• Hands on experience with ETL testing
• Experience in analyzing the testing scope and developing work estimates.
• Database/Backend testing experience (writing and verifying results of medium to high complexity SQL & PL/SQL queries) & creation of functions and stored procedures
• File to file, file to DB and DB to DB validation experience
• Data Migration testing experience
• Design test approach, Develop Test Strategies and Plans. Align test cases to requirements and user stories.
• Experienced in JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git suite and managing test cases, test plans using Jira plugins like X-ray or Zephyr
• Good understanding of UAT standards and methodologies
• Experience writing Unix commands through shell scripting
• Experience working with both Agile methodology and Waterfall SDLC
• White Box testing following QA principles, practices and methodologies
• Experience writing test documentation such as Test Plans, scripts and test results reports
