Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance professional with expertise in SQL, reinsurance, and accounting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our reinsurance projects, system updates and enhancements through rigorous testing processes, utilizing their SQL proficiency to analyze and manipulate data effectively. In addition to proficiency in manual testing, testers will demonstrate expertise in QA automation, leveraging advanced tools and frameworks to automate test cases. We are currently moving towards test automation. We’re looking for someone who’d like to take part in change management and support other team members through this transformation.
This strategic approach enhances efficiency and precision throughout the testing process, optimizing the quality assurance workflow. Furthermore, candidate will play a crucial role in understanding and validating complex reinsurance transactions within our systems. The senior QA will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions to our stakeholders.

What you’ll do here:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance protocols and procedures.
  • Create guidelines and processes to maintain high-quality standards throughout the SDLC.
  • Conducting thorough testing processes to identify and resolve any defects or issues.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation: test plans, executing test cases, and documenting test results.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts, execute automated tests, and analyze results to identify potential areas for improvement.
  • Streamline the testing process, reducing manual effort, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Collaborate with developers, project managers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring that the changes meet quality standards and user requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis and propose initiative-taking solutions.
  • Ensure consistency and functionality of user interfaces.
  • Conduct post release testing.
  • Mentor team members and help with change management.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst.
  • Skilled in SQL, experience using Toad for Oracle.
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance processes and industry standards (an asset).
  • Insurance background (a must).
  • P&C insurance knowledge (a must).
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and diligence.
  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Can work well in a team environment.
  • Bilinguism (FR-ENG) - an asset. For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
