Duration: Part time Ongoing (possible convert to full time in the future)

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Proven experience in manual and automated testing (minimum 10 years). • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes. • Familiarity with both custom software development and COTS products. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Ability to lead QA initiatives across a dynamic range of projects Certifications (Recommended): • ISTQB Certified Tester (Foundation Level or higher). • Any relevant certifications in test automation (e.g. Selenium, Appium). Skills: • Proficiency in test automation using tools like GhostInspector (desired), Selenium (beneficial), JUnit, or TestNG. • Solid understanding of SQL and databases. • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git). • Ability to create and maintain test documentation. • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Experience: • Minimum 10 years of QA experience, including both manual and automated testing. • Previous work with custom software projects and COTS products. • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Paralucent is seeking a skilled Senior QA Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. As the sole QA professional, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our custom and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software projects. If you’re passionate about both manual and automated testing and a self-starter, this opportunity is perfect for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and mobile applications.
• Perform functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify and address defects.
• Lead efforts to enhance test automation frameworks and maintain test suites.
• Investigate and report software defects, track issues, and verify fixes.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and best practices.
