Description:

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR QUALITY ENGINEER - APQP LEAD

  • A proficient quality assurance engineer with experience in a related industry and be familiar with how quality applies throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience of implementing APQP and encouraging culture change within a team or organisation.
  • Experience applying APQP in a complex programme would be beneficial.
  • Experience of auditing quality ISO9001 management systems.
  • An excellent working knowledge of quality tools and problem-solving techniques, and be able to provide guidance to others in their use (e.g. APQP, Pareto, FMEA, MSA, 8D, etc.).
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and able to give examples of how you have used them in previous situations

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR QUALITY ENGINEER - APQP LEAD

  • ONC, HNC or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a quality, science, engineering discipline.
  • Membership of a recognised quality institute e.g. CQI would be desirable.
  • ISO 9001 auditor preferable but training can be provided

Day to day, you will provide advice, guidance and support to the business on all matters related to quality with a focus on APQP implementation, ensuring outputs meet customer and regulatory requirements in a timely manner.

  • Represent the customer’s interests and help to maintain the open and collaborative relationship we have.
  • Work cross functionally to implement Advanced Product Quality Planning to a Major Engineering Programme.
  • Act as a Subject Matter expert for APQP within the Programme Delivery team.
  • Identify effective methods of complying with principles of APQP, supporting the business to tailor where appropriate based on risk.
  • Conduct GAP analysis and make recommendations on techniques for improving adherence to APQP methodology and oversee progress and sign-off the delivery process to give the customer assurance their requirements have been met

As a Senior Quality Engineer - APQP Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The key focus of this role is to support the delivery of one of our most important contracts on time, to the right quality and to the planned cost. You’ll be part of a Project Quality team that sits within the Programme Delivery Team.

This role is full time 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2-3 days in the office/onsite and days working from home.
