With a wide range of secure projects in the pipeline, your expertise and skills will be valued and well-utilised in our Auckland team as a Senior Quantity Surveyor. You’ll be responsible for the contractual and financial administration of a contracts/projects, including quality and health & safety related disciplines.
You will work with Project and Construction Managers to create a no-surprises environment and to implement and facilitate business improvement initiatives.
The role is responsible for:
- Providing commercial, contractual and risk management knowledge to improve project performance;
- Developing commercial awareness within the site team through training and mentoring;
- Ensuring sound financial and business practices are applied to all project operations consistent with company policies, procedures and business systems;
- Promoting consistency and accuracy with regards to forecasting, cash flow and predictability of project outcomes.
The following outcomes will be achieved:
- Sustainable project profitability;
- Increased commercial, contractual and risk awareness within the project team;
- Ensuring customer and stakeholder relationships are enhanced and effective;
- Increased profitability on project financial outcomes;
- Ensuring contractual entitlement is maximised whilst minimising cost.
IMPORTANT SKILLS | NGA PŪKENGA MATUA
You’ll bring with you proven experience working in a civil construction/maintenance environment, with site experience on projects valued between NZ$5M and $50M plus. We’d value the following skills and experience:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Financial and commercial acumen
- A QS: NZCQS or NZCE, National Diploma or equivalent
- Fully conversant with all aspects of contractual management, interim and final progress payments, measurement, record keeping, contract variations and the like.
- The ability to work under pressure in a fully integrated team environment;
- Site experience in projects valued between NZ$5M and $50M plus
This is a Full-Time, Permanent role based from Penrose in Auckland. The flexibility to be mobile as working on projects across the region will be required from time to time.
