DESCRIPTION:

Wills Bros are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to for a major design & build infrastructure project in Dublin. This position will require close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and clients to maintain high standards and foster productive relationships.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with NEC contracts and a strong background in civil engineering projects.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying. Chartered or working towards chartership is preferred but not essential.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying within the Civil Engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
  • Proven experience with NEC contracts is essential.
  • Proficient in the use of COINS, Primavera P6/MS Project software and MS Office suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all project costs to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
  • Prepare and evaluate cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities for our projects.
  • Manage NEC contracts, including interpreting contract clauses, managing early warnings, and assessing compensation events.
  • Analyse and assess variations, manage claims in compliance with NEC guidelines, and ensure timely resolution of any contract issues.
  • Conduct cost analysis and risk management for ongoing projects.
  • Oversee procurement processes, negotiate with subcontractors, and manage subcontractor performance.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on project financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of contract documents and manage contract variations.
