Senior R&D Engineer (Remote - Waterloo, Canada)

MINIMUM EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5 years’ experience, MS with 3 years’ experience, or PhD with 1 year experience
• Excellent technical knowledge with python, with a strong understanding of multi-threading and concurrent programming
• Experience integrating and controlling services using Python interfaces
• Knowledge of 3D rendering fundamentals
• Experience in web development
• Commercial experience with software design and development methodologies
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a geographically distributed team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Hands-on experience with 3D rendering tools and framework, preferably VTK and WASM
• Familiarity with visualizing scientific or engineering data in 3D environments
• Working knowledge of React and JavaScript for user interface development is a plus
• Passion for crafting robust and efficient code
• Experience delivering high-quality products in a large-scale commercial software development environment
• Understanding of customer requirements and tools used in this domain
