Senior R&D Project Manager
Would you like to take the lead in developing the future products and solutions within Nilfisk? Are you motivated by driving complex innovation projects in a global environment? Join the R&D Competence Center in Europe comprised of experts in software, mechanical and electrical development. In this position you will report to VP R&D, Johnny Overgaard and be part of the leadership team of other senior project managers that also take pride in leading the development of future products and solutions.
What is the job about?
As a Senior R&D Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the development of new solutions from idea phase to launch in the full value chain. You will work closely with many other departments and functions to ensure your projects and execution are synchronized within stakeholder expectations and other project dependencies.
The responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to project team members and secure accountability, collaboration and compliance to project goals
- Develop project scope, budgets, timelines, and project status
- Safeguard the business case, project timing, cost, quality and specifications
- Ensure agile execution and verification based on progress of the right offering in close cooperation with partners and customers
- Identify, assess and prioritize projects risks and mitigation plans

The successful candidate has +8 years of experience navigating in a complete stakeholder landscape and can analyze and understand complex structures/systems and use great communications skills when presenting this.
You take pride in setting an example and supporting your colleagues in an engaging and motivating manner, showing inclusive attitude. In your projects, you are ambitious and yet realistic about what is possible, and not afraid of challenging when necessary.
Furthermore, it is a prerequisite to be fluent in oral and written English, as your stakeholders will be located across country borders. Preferably, you will have an electoral or software background and have experience in leading the integration of mechanics, electrical and software elements and implement this into full value chain.
The position is currently placed in R&D Center in Hadsund, however we will in the last part of 2026 move to other facilities in Aalborg – and there is flexibility to work from home as we value work-life balance.
Travel is expected to be 15 – 30 days pr. year – mainly to our other international R&D centers, production sites and partners in respectively Italy, China & US among others.

Hereafter, if there is a mutual match, we will invite you to an interview with the hiring manager and potentially a colleague. The 2nd interview will be with an HR representative together with the manager where the focus is on a feedback session on a personality assessment and aptitude test.
