Job Description:
Job Title: Senior Radiographer MRI

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Superintendent Radiographer, you will provide high standards of service to our patients.
The department is extremely busy so you must be able to work well under pressure in a complex environment, having adaptability and sensitivity to work within a diverse environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Be responsible for the daily management of the MRI Service in liaison with the Superintendent Radiographer and organising the daily work schedule to ensure that the department runs efficiently.
  • Deputise for the Superintendent Radiographers as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain staff rotas to ensure appropriate staff coverage on the respective scanner.
  • Supervise the professional standards and operational management of the rotating staff and their training in the respective scanner, ensuring a consistent level of service is maintained.
  • Perform high quality examinations as required by referring Physicians, in line with departmental policies and procedures whilst ensuring that all patients being investigated receive a high standard of care.
  • Accurately analyse the acquired data, record results and produce high quality images for reporting.
  • Assist in the care of all equipment within the department ensuring that cleanliness is maintained and that all equipment faults are reported immediately.
  • Ensure the efficient use of all resources, establish stock control systems and liaise with manufacturers and suppliers.
