UHS Theatre Recovery Team are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join their Senior Team.
First and foremost, this role requires you to be able to provide outstanding care to Adult patients in the post-operative phase - this includes monitoring and performing emergency airway interventions and managing acute deterioration of a variety of causes. You will be responsible for the pastoral care and management of a group of staff, as well as the day-to-day running of the Recovery rooms and periodic undertaking of the Recovery Co-ordinator role.
Training and support will be provided by the hiring manager and Education Team to the successful candidate. The Recovery department covers additional specialities such as Paediatric and Neuro, and the candidate will have the opportunity to undertake their competencies in multiple specialities if they wish to.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Significant Adult Recovery experience
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise time effectively
  • Evidence of commitment to high standards of patient care and service improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • To provide skilled expertise and care to patients in the post-anaesthetic phase, and support junior team members and students to provide the same.
  • To provide compassionate and fair leadership to a pastoral team (Band 2-5), which will require knowledge of and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
  • Alongside senior colleagues, inspire and deliver continuous service improvement in accordance with the Trust Values.
  • To periodically undertake the Recovery co-ordinator role, which involves managing staffing, patient flow and patient deterioration across all 6 Recovery zones (including holding emergency bleep).
