Senior Refrigeration Technician

SUMMARY

The Senior Refrigeration Technician repairs complex refrigeration equipment. This may include but is not limited to repairs of dual stage cascade refrigeration, standard and commercial grade refrigeration systems, direct exchange cooling systems for space cooling, environmental rooms, stability chambers, refrigerated incubators, centrifuges, ice-makers, as well as de-humidification and comfort systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or GED.
• Four years of relevant experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Six years of relevant experience.

• Responds to laboratory equipment failure using the automated critical alarm system through assessment and solution. Solutions may include repair and/or temporary replacement of the unit.
• Repairs environmental rooms, bio-medical ultra-low cascade and auto-cascade hybrid freezers, commercial and domestic refrigerators and freezers, refrigerated incubators, centrifuges, microscope heat exchangers and ice makers.
• Repairs and installs air conditioners including, residential systems, roof top package units, and server room space conditioners.
• Provides support services for laboratory and construction personnel on matters related to refrigeration and comfort systems.
• Records all activity in the work order system to ensure appropriate billing is completed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
