JOB DESCRIPTION

The Regulatory Information and Intelligence Team is a key support function within OPSS sitting in the Targeting Area, responsible for collecting, collating and analysing information and intelligence to produce and disseminate products which help shape and support OPSS regulatory decision-making at all levels.
We are seeking a Senior Regulatory Information and Intelligence Analyst who can add to the diversity and scope of the Unit, and help embed our reporting and intelligence capability supporting the production of intelligence products and data analysis across the team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a focused individual with established skills in intelligence, the management of information and linked reporting, or a regulatory background. The postholder will help keep consumers safe as an integral part of a team supporting OPSS’s key objective of protecting people and places from product-related harm.
As one of six senior leads within the team, you will play a central role in analysing information and intelligence received into the Unit. You will lead the production of products by developing intelligence using established analytical and intelligence techniques, data interrogation and open-source research. A crucial aspect of the role will be supporting the development of the Product Safety Database (PSD), driving forward priority developments with relevant OPSS teams.

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The post holder will report to the G7 for Regulatory Information and Intelligence and will involve the line management of HEOs.

As a regulatory information and intelligence lead, you will work within the regulatory reporting sub-team to:

  • Help inform, regulatory risk-based decisions ensuring accurate recording of data and production of information and intelligence reports.
  • Utilise effective analysis processes for information and intelligence gathering, analysis and dissemination, within national guidelines.
  • Manage the development of the Product Safety Database (PSD), building relationships to understand user needs and collaborating with OPSS teams to deliver remedial actions.
  • Quality assure intelligence products and data reports produced by team members.
  • Champion the use of information and intelligence across the Office helping to embed an intelligence- and risk-led culture.
  • Work with colleagues across the team and in the OPSS Analysis division to ensure that the team’s analytical work is robust.
  • Develop strong working relationships with the wider intelligence, data and regulatory community.
  • Support the development of strategic, tactical and operational assessments to support OPSS’ corporate objectives.
  • Lead the development of operational instructions to support and provide guidance to OPSS teams
  • Reactively support Major Incidents across OPSS
