Description:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate for this role will bring a wealth of experience in the infant formula and dairy space. You will have demonstrated experience in leading the regulatory workstream within cross functional project teams and delivering on required outcomes.
You will also have the following skills and attributes:
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in regulatory affairs within the dairy industry.
- Excellent knowledge and experience in the interpretation and application of relevant ANZ regulatory processes, acts, regulations, standards and guidelines.
- Relevant knowledge and experience in the application of other global regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in accessing, interpreting and applying global dairy and infant formula regulatory requirements.
- Tertiary degree in human nutrition is preferred.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re on the lookout for a Senior Regulatory Specialist who will bring exceptional nutritional regulatory knowledge to ensure ongoing compliance with global and domestic regulatory requirements and to support our new business growth ambitions. Complementing your strong subject matter expertise and industry networks you will also bring strong problem-solving skills and your ability to work with other groups across the business. As a senior member of the Global Regulatory Affairs team, this role will also provide guidance and coaching to the Regulatory Specialists.
This is an exciting opportunity to focus on innovation, growing volume, market expansion and developing relationships with our key customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE INCLUDE:
- Take the lead in understanding and ensuring compliance to overseas and New Zealand regulatory requirements related to new product development.
- Develop external relationships and networks to ensure Synlait is kept up to date in its knowledge and understanding of New Zealand regulations, especially those relating to infant formula products.
- Manage the regulatory registration process for new products. Co-ordinate and drive activities across functional areas as required.
- Work with MPI and applicable industry associations on New Zealand regulations and overseas market access requirements for dairy and infant formula products.
- Maintain an overview of changes to the regulatory and market access requirements for dairy and infant formula products in New Zealand and in key Synlait markets.
