About This Opportunity
[This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to undertake team-based research in a high-achieving, multidisciplinary, and collaboration-focused environment at the Institute for Social Science Research (ISSR). You will be doing solution-focused research and evaluations that contribute to achieving positive social impacts, with a particular focus on health, education, public policy, social justice, and equity. At ISSR, you will experience a unique environment different from traditional academic settings, where we are largely self-funded and emphasise commissioned work (Category 2 and 3 contract research and consultancy).

You will be contributing significantly to projects with immediate and meaningful impact. Your responsibilities will include managing the implementation of small to medium-sized research and evaluation projects, coordinating key components of larger-scale projects, evaluating existing programs, developing evaluation frameworks, creating evaluation measures, and designing and refining policy responses.
If you are passionate about using research to drive positive social change then this is a perfect role for you.
Key responsibilities will include: (Maximum 3-4 points)
- Project manage components of research projects, liaising with external clients, collaborators, and ISSR staff to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Design and implement research projects and evaluations, including developing surveys, data collection instruments, and submitting ethics applications.
- Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative data collection and analysis, and prepare presentations, reports, and academic publications for various external audiences.
- Contribute to funding submissions, including tenders, proposals, and research grant applications, while participating in and supporting research team meetings.
