The Senior Research Associate - Antibody Generation is responsible for Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody generation by using molecular biology approaches within our B-cell cloning and hybridoma platforms to help deliver rabbit monoclonal antibody projects on time and to high standards for customers and catalogue.
This position reports to the Antibody Generation Scientist and is part of the Antibody development platform located in Waltham US and will be on-site. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.

THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in biological, medicine, chemical, or other related fields is required, and a master’s degree is highly preferred.
  • 3 plus years of hands-on experience in cell culture with preferred experience in PCR, plasmid prep, transformation, transfection, and plasmid construction.
  • Experience with antibody sequence analysis is highly preferred.
    The salary range for this role is $72,000-$82,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
    This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform molecular biology and cell culture experiments such as: mRNA extraction, PCR experiments, vector linearization, transformation, plasmid miniprep, and transfection to generate recombination antibodies.
  • Collate and analyze the experiment results and DNA sequencing data, update the experimental information on internal database.
  • Maintain high quality standards within the lab; ensuring the lab is compliant with all external and internal quality standards, and compliance with all health and safety guidelines.
