JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Research Associate will play a critical role in our research team, contributing to experimental design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation. The position involves advanced bench work, particularly in animal models, and requires a candidate with substantial prior research experience, as demonstrated by multiple publications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and two years of experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory, particularly clinical trial research.
OR
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned with a minimum of five years’ research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Extensive experience in performing complex animal model studies.
Proven expertise in advanced tissue staining, imaging, and biochemical analyses.
Documented research experience with a strong publication record.
Experience in animal husbandry, particularly with transgenic and gene knockout models.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Knowledge of AU and MCG policies and procedures that govern grant expenditures and grant submissions. Proficiency in behavioral testing and interpretation of results.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking, prioritization and organizational skills. Strong collaborative skills.
ABILITIES
Willingness and ability to work with research animals. Ability to maintain confidentiality, complete work and meet deadlines. Ability to manage and schedule resources and manage project expenses, reagents, equipment and other supplies. Ability to work independently.
