Description:
JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Research Associate is responsible for assisting the supervisor in material design, preparation, testing, process development, test methodology, modification of formulation, and characterization related to product development in a manner that is consistent with proper testing and laboratory procedures targeted towards product development.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in technical discipline (chemistry, metallurgy, material science, or engineering); an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills with a focus on data processing.
- Experience in safety, quality assurance, and best engineering and laboratory practices.
- Knowledge of SPC and process variation reduction within a manufacturing environment.
- “Hands on” machine operation and test experience.
- Demonstrated ability to complete a wide-variety of assignments in a manufacturing lab environment with a minimum level of support/direction.
- Ability to read and understand product design and fabrication documentation.
- Ability to document design changes for specifications per standards.
