Description:

At Genmab, we’re committed to building extra[not]ordinary futures together, by developing antibody products and pioneering, knock-your-socks-off therapies that change the lives of patients and the future of cancer treatment and serious diseases. From our people who are caring, candid, and impact-driven to our business, which is innovative and rooted in science, we believe that being proudly unique, determined to be our best, and authentic is essential to fulfilling our purpose.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Senior Research Associate with expertise in automated protein purification and characterization. You will be working in the Protein Science & Technologies (PST) team, a part of the Antibody Discovery Technologies department that is responsible for providing state-of-the-art technologies and expertise to the Discovery and Research organization of Genmab. PST focusses on scouting, testing and implementation of new technologies to support efficient and accurate antibody production, purification and biochemical characterization.
Your role will be to implement and optimize protein purification and analysis processes by developing and setting up automated, high-throughput workflows. In this role, you will contribute to Genmab’s ambition of optimizing the antibody discovery pipeline to accelerate the development of novel antibody formats and products.

Responsibilities

  • With your up-to-date protein separation expertise and knowledge about antibody biochemistry you will support technological innovation projects.
  • You will take responsibility in implementing new technologies in the lab and set up new workflows for high-throughput antibody purification and analysis.
  • You use your knowledge of, and experience with the most used protein separation, biochemistry, HPLC/UPLC and mass spectrometry techniques.
  • You have experience optimizing assays and/or processes via DoE (design of experiments) approach.
  • You work independently on the lab to optimize and automate purification/analytical processes; available automation systems are Tecan Fluent / Assist Plus, experience with any of these would be an advantage.
  • You will closely collaborate with scientists and engineers with expertise in molecular biology, structural biology, HTS screening and/or Lab Automatization. Together with these teams you design and deliver state-of-the-art technologies to the Discovery and Research organization of Genmab.
  • You document results in electronic notebooks (ELN) in an organized manner and deliver experimental results and projects outcomes in the form of presentations and reports.

Requirements

  • You have a B.Sc. or an M.Sc. degree in Biochemistry or equivalent with several years of relevant work experience. Kindly note that applicants holding a PhD will be deemed overqualified for this position and their applications will not be considered.
  • You have experience or strong affinity with high-throughput purification and analysis, laboratory robotics (e.g. TECAN, Assist Plus) and/or automated data analysis processes.
  • You have a broad knowledge of, and experience with the most commonly used protein separation techniques and analytical characterization, automation of workflows and handling of large data sets from HT analyses.
  • Preferably, you are experienced in setting up process flows for automated protein analysis and data management.

About You

  • You are passionate about our purpose and genuinely care about our mission to transform the lives of patients through innovative cancer treatment
  • You bring rigor and excellence to all that you do. You are a fierce believer in our rooted-in-science approach to problem-solving
  • You are a generous collaborator who can work in teams with diverse backgrounds
  • You are determined to do and be your best and take pride in enabling the best work of others on the team
  • You are not afraid to grapple with the unknown and be innovative
  • You have experience working in a fast-growing, dynamic company (or a strong desire to)
  • You work hard and are not afraid to have a little fun while you do so
