Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process STAT testing for Process Development runs, testing of upstream and downstream samples, and testing stability samples
  • Support analytical method development activities
  • Tissue culture and maintenance of mammalian cell lines
  • Perform general bioassay and molecular biology methods including but not limited to PCR, gel electrophoresis, viral assays, protein analytical assays, and virus/vector propagation
  • Assist in organizing daily activities
  • Hands-on lab work associated with adherent or suspension cell culture, medium/buffer preparation, and cleaning/decontaminating of biosafety cabinets and incubators
  • Perform work in a BSL-1, -2, or -3 environment
  • Maintain materials inventory supply and ordering
  • Work as a team with analytical development, process development, QC, manufacturing, QA, and other departments as needed
  • Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory equipment and laboratory support operations
  • All other tasks as needed or assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with data analysis, trending and statistics
  • Experience working in an analytical lab performing a variety of assays including responsibility for material management
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident to be considered for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in microbiology, biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or related field and 5+ years of experience in laboratory sciences/biotech/biopharma.
  • M.S. in same areas and 3+ years of experience
  • Experience with HPLC preferred
  • Experience with physical chemistry assays may be considered in lieu of bioassay experience
  • Experience with high throughput data analysis is a plus
  • Experience in cell culture and cell-based assays including but not limited to TCID50 and Plaque Assay

This position may also include the following conditions:

Physical work:

  • This role is primarily an Active role that will require in-laboratory presence. Activities can include Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Repetitive motion, Reaching, Standing, Walking and Lifting. This can include exerting up to 30 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Visual acuity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Participation in an occupational health program (which can include medical assessment, surveillance, vaccination, and testing).
  • Use of personal protective equipment which can include respirators, Personal Air Purifying Respirators [PAPR], gowns, gloves, face protection, other barrier equipment, etc.

Exposure to the following:

  • Use of personal protective equipment (which can include respirators, Personal Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), gowns, gloves, face protection, other barrier equipment, etc.
  • Handling, managing, and disposing hazardous and non-hazardous waste (which can include: chemicals, universal and e-wastes, oil, aqueous wastewater, etc.), inclusive of exposure to bloodborne pathogens
  • Working in BSL-2/3 laboratories & production rooms, waste holding areas, or other facilities where biological hazards and hazardous chemicals may be stored or handled.
  • Packaging, transporting, and shipping of infectious or potentially infectious substances

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
