Description:
We are seeking to appoint a senior academic to provide teaching and strategic leadership for our taught postgraduate portfolio in sustainability chemistry interfacing with physics, materials science and engineering. You will work in close partnership with academic colleagues across the Department of Chemistry and with other departments, in particular the Department of Materials, to develop, direct and deliver innovative teaching which is expected to include undergraduate lecture courses, master’s programmes, DPhil and industrial training. The MPLS Division has a strategic vision to expand its programme of collaborative postgraduate taught programmes in key areas aligned with global challenges including sustainability as well as a continuing commitment to training the next generation of scientists in strong fundamentals.
In addition, you will lead a programme of high impact research in an area of sustainable chemistry that will be complimentary to existing expertise within the Department, supervise DPhil and MChem Part II students, and collaborate with researchers across the Department and Division.

You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering high-level taught postgraduate courses to interdisciplinary cohorts. We are looking for an established academic of international standing in their field with a strong publication record and evidence of securing research funding together with a demonstrable commitment to teaching including a track record of teaching development and leadership.
