We are seeking a technically proficient Senior Research Manager to lead projects within our Research and Insight practice. This role is pivotal to ensuring the delivery of high-quality insights projects for both internal agency needs and external clients. The successful candidate will bring a robust technical background, managerial expertise, and a passion for driving innovation and efficiency in research and data analysis.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Marketing, Business, Statistics, Data Science) or equivalent qualification. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in social science, preferably with modules in applied research, international development, behavioural science etc is preferred
- Significant experience in a research or insights role, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects and leading teams
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality research and insights to clients
- Experience working within a marketing function at a company or within a marketing agency is valuable
- Experience in both B2B and B2C markets is highly desirable
- Technical Skills:
- Experience in qualitative and quantitative research, as well as the use of syndicated research, social listening and other approaches
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
- Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Expertise in advanced statistical techniques, i.e. regression analysis, factor analysis, and structural equation modelling (SEM)
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and their application in marketing analytics is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis (SPSS, R, Python)
- Familiarity with survey design, experimental design, and other primary research methodologies
- Understanding of big data technologies and their application in business insights
Responsibilities:
- Project leadership, often managing multiple projects at once
- Developing the practice and driving innovation
- Managing and developing a team of researchers
- Take briefs, translating them into detailed project plans
- Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure timely and within-budget delivery
- Oversee or lead the execution of research and insight projects, ensuring technical rigor and accuracy
- Acts as the quality controller, ensuring all outputs meet exacting standards
- Ensure all data handling complies with data privacy regulations
- Ensure all projects provide actionable insights and recommendations, connecting to the client’s reality and the bigger picture
- Developing the practice and driving innovation
- Develop and enhance our research propositions, methodologies, and technical capabilities
- Identify and adopt new tools and technologies to improve efficiency and the quality of outputs
- Develop client-specific value propositions and case studies
- Build the practice’s reputation internally and externally
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to the team
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
