Description:

Work with the Research Team to support the safe conduct of research in accordance with the UK Clinical Trials Regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and provide assurance that the rights, safety and well-being of trial participants are protected. The post holder will be responsible for undertaking, co-ordinating and driving a team in the recruitment of patients to clinical trials. The post holder will work with the team lead to develop and grow the research portfolio across their designated speciality area. The post will involve, managing and coordinating, clinical trials collaboratively with the research & multidisciplinary teams. Be accountable for the assessment, planning, organisation and on-going care of research participants, whilst maximising compliance with study/trial protocol. As a specialist role the post holder will provide, expert direction, support, supervision and management of staff. They will assist with the training of staff to ensure they conform to protocol and practice guidelines. The role will be key in problem solving and solution driving issues, in order to ensure research is conducted safely, effectively and efficiently by all members of their team. Use relevant knowledge to perform research procedures in accordance with study protocols and extend this experience to support others in the research team and other health care professionals where appropriate.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Research & Development Department as a Senior Research Nurse on a permanent contract.
If you are interested in making a difference and exploring where evidence-based medicine is developed, the Oncology Research Team are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic nurse to join our busy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a sub team within Oncology Research and will be encouraged to drive the Service forward. This will involve recruiting patients and following them up during treatment and in clinics providing a high standard of protocol/ Individualised care.
This is a part time post.

The Post holder must comply with all RCHT Policies and Procedures.
The Post holder must work within infection control guidelines to ensure that work methods do not constitute a risk of infection either to the health care professional, to the client or to any persons working/visiting in RCHT premises.

Registered Nurse.
Significant post qualification experience to include academic and
commercial clinical trials.
Educated to diploma (relevant subject) and working towards degree or
able to demonstrate evidence of study at this level.
Good understanding of research.
Conversant with DoH Research Governance Framework for Health and
Social Care, ICH GCP, the European Union Clinical Trials Directive and
the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) Regulations.
Evidence of continued professional development.
Good computer literacy including email and internet.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Creative solution driven/problem solving mentality.
Ability to manage own time and workload with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a self-directed manner whilst also contributing to and
working as a team member.
Line management experience.
Ability to perform tasks to a high level of detail and accuracy
