Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a fantastic opportunity if you are looking to apply your research experience in a mental health setting, your interest in working with Aboriginal young people and their families as well as your outstanding project management skills!
Our Healing Kids, Healing Families team is commencing a research project that aims to co-design, develop, and implement a culturally safe and responsive parenting program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families who have experienced trauma. The program will have social and emotional benefits for families by strengthening a sense of connectedness with family, kin, country and culture, and Indigenous identity thereby promoting healing in a culturally safe and responsive way.
Working closely with our research and project teams you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of this new study, including:
- Obtaining ethics to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Recruiting and engaging with participants.
- Monitor study progress and ensuring compliance with the study protocol.
- Collect, manage and analyse complex and sensitive data.
- Produce high-quality research outputs.
- Build strong relationships with all stakeholders across the program, including Aboriginal communities.
You will be directly supported by lead researchers and have a chance to develop your leadership skills by mentoring and supervising staff involved in this project.
Conveniently located within the Perth Children’s Hospital, this part-time (0.8FTE) opportunity will be offered until May 2027.
