    Military and Emergency Services Health Australia (MESHA), a charity of The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group is seeking a dedicated Senior Research Officer to join our dynamic team.

We’re looking for individuals who possess:

  • A PhD in psychology, behavioural sciences, health or social sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience designing and delivering both quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Track record in publishing research and presenting findings to diverse audiences.
  • Experience mentoring researchers and supervising students, with a focus on creating impactful learning experiences.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health, trauma, and wellbeing research, preferably in Defence and Emergency Services contexts.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Research and Training Lead, the Senior Research Officer will:

  • Facilitate research projects: Coordinate and contribute to the design, development, and reporting of MESHA’s research initiatives.
  • Mentor staff and students: Provide guidance and support to junior researchers and students, helping them excel in their roles and academic pursuits.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Build strong relationships with universities, government agencies, and lived experience stakeholders to develop impactful research projects.
  • Translate research into action: Disseminate findings through journal articles, presentations, and innovative formats, ensuring they inform policy and practice.
  • Contribute to grants and ethics: Assist in preparing grant applications and ethics submissions to secure funding and uphold research integrity.
