Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of our client. Our client specialises in supporting children and young people with a range of emotional & behavioural difficulties, mental health and challenging behaviours.
Job Title: Senior Residential Care worker
Scale: Point 25-29, £12.45 - £13.50 per hour, plus Night-time Allowance (sleep in payment) at £50.00. (8-10 sleeps per month are required as part of this role)
Overall Purpose: To assist the Deputy Manager and Registered Manager in ensuring all
responsibilities of company Children’s Services residential homes are met.
Reports To: Deputy Manager
Essential : Driver with access to own vehicle

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • NVQ/ILM level 3 / QCF 3 in Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent or be working toward it.
  • 2 years residential experience Residential care experience or other relevant experience of working with children and young people
  • Genuine commitment to the welfare of Looked After Children.

Responsibilities:

  • To ensure that all our children and young people are provided with the highest quality of care possible and to assist them reaching their fullest potential. As well as assisting the Management team to ensure that all responsibilities at the residential homes are met.
  • Attend to all the care needs of young people being looked after in the home.
  • Implement individual and team learning and development plans in conjunction with professional and organisational requirements.
  • Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and review of policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the delivery of effective individual care plans, risk assessments and other children’s records.
  • Assist Deputy Manager in the implementation of all designated areas of the

children’s care plan in accordance with LAC or other reviews.

  • Assist in co-ordination and delivery of regular team performance and service

Reviews.

  • As both practitioner and Senior Officer, address health needs of all children are

met by ensuring medication is administered and recorded in accordance with any prescribed requirements by GP / Hospital / Medical Practitioner.

  • Attend or designate attendance to appropriate staff members for the attendance

of all relevant childcare planning, reviews and meetings.

  • Attend all team meetings and briefings and familiarise yourself with all

memorandums and information relating to your role
