| Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business/commerce or analytics (business analytics, finance, accounting, information systems, process management, etc.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of recent experience in risk management, process management, and business analytics/reporting
  • Knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies/processes, and best practices
  • Experience with management of databases, and project schedules.
  • Effective relationship management/building skills
  • Efficient teamwork skills and customer service orientation
  • Strong writing and oral communication skills
  • Superior problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated research capacity
  • Critical reasoning, analytical and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of risk management processes, frameworks, and tools aligned with the ERM Program.
  • Lead the research and monitoring of organizational emerging risks, contribute to risk reporting, and support strategic projects in risk identification and assessment.
  • Assist in the coordination and preparation of materials for internal and external risk committees.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and risk management experts, both internally and externally.
  • Maintain enterprise-wide risk related repositories/registers and perform regular follow up.
  • Lead the annual refresh of risk appetite statements and associated risk metrics with key stakeholders, and conduct quarterly review of risk metrics data and breaches for board reporting.

    Duties and Responsibilities

Development & Evolution of Risk Management Program

  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of risk management activities for projects and operations, risk frameworks, and tools developed in alignment with the ERM Program.
  • Lead the development and implementation of organization-wide training and change management tools/materials in support of the ERM program.

Percentage of Time: 20%

Integrated Oversight, Monitoring & Risk Reporting

  • Provide oversight and effective challenge to ensure risks associated with payment systems, initiatives, projects (including the RTR Program), and other change activities are being effectively managed.
  • Support and contribute to Enterprise Risk Reporting activities including leading the identification and management of emerging risks, review of and report on risk appetite metrics.
  • Support the development and enhancement of the quarterly Chief Risk Officer Report to the Risk Committee of the Board including leading the consolidation and analysis of risk appetite metrics.
  • Conduct fundamental research and analysis on risk issues and provide recommendations on risks that may have an impact on Payments Canada.
  • Support the Enterprise Risk Management Committee (internal committee) and Payments Risk Group (external committee) through secretarial duties such as the coordination, development of meeting materials, invitations and minutes.
  • Participate in project teams as appropriate to provide risk analysis and subject matter expertise.
  • Provide support on risk focused projects and initiatives.

Percentage of Time: 60%

Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain effective and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization;
  • Communicate and collaborate with risk management and thought leaders within and outside the Payments Canada membership to gather and provide information, advice and solutions and remain abreast of the latest developments in the risk management field

Percentage of Time: 10%

Key Accountability: Professional Development

  • Maintain and expand risk and leadership knowledge and skill sets by attending conferences, courses, and seminars.
  • Responsible for staying current on emerging trends within the risk ecosystem by reviewing and evaluating reports & publications from external risk associations.

| Salary Range
Based on qualifications and experience: $93,637 and $117,046 CAD
