Senior Risk Associate, Market Risk and Capital
The Liquidity, Market, and Capital Risk Oversight (LMCRO) team is seeking a motivated candidate for a Senior Risk Associate position. LMCRO is a second line of defense Independent Risk Management (IRM) function responsible for oversight of the company’s measurement and management of risks across the crisis continuum, including liquidity risk, market risk-taking and management, capital measurement and management, and recovery and resolution planning. This includes regulatory stress testing (e.g., CCAR, ILST and other resilience analysis), regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel), overall liquidity, market, and capital risk management frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
In a time of banking industry and macroeconomic uncertainty, coupled with many proposed prudential regulatory changes, this associate will get exposure to a variety of topics and have an opportunity to make an impact in how the firm responds to these challenges in a well managed manner.
The second line of defense is both an expert advisor to the first line and an effective challenger of first line risk activities. The successful candidate will help to influence the company’s approaches and processes for managing capital and liquidity, and will build strong partnerships with the first line of defense teams and other internal independent review and challenge organizations (e.g., Enterprise Risk Management, Model Risk, and Internal Audit). This individual must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization.
Risk Associates at Capital One are highly motivated risk and process management professionals with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. These skills allow the Risk Associate to gain insights, and act as a change agent to influence their partner organizations.
The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated risk or process management professional with excellent process improvement and communication skills. The candidate will be detail-oriented and results focused, and will have a proven record of problem solving and collaborating with others.
