Description:

The Senior Sales Engineer (Modular) will be responsible for providing accurate tenders and quotations for client enquiries on customised solutions, playing a key role in CEL’s tender-winning strategy. This position requires a strong commercial acumen, experience in Modular Power Solutions, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Tender and Quotation Management: Prepare and deliver accurate and competitive tenders and quotations for Customised Modular Solutions, in line with CEL’s work-winning strategy, adhering to tight deadlines.
Commercial Analysis: Apply strong commercial understanding, including margin and mark-up analysis, to ensure profitability and competitiveness in all bids.
Documentation Management: Create and manage comprehensive and timely documentation, including detailed scopes of work, tender return documents, cost schedules, preliminary breakdowns and margin analyses.
Modular Client and Supplier Liaison: Act as a primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring all communications are clear, professional, and effective.
Attention to Detail: Ensure all documentation and tender submissions contain the most accurate and up-to-date information, reflecting any changes or updates throughout the sales process.
Modular Project Management: Handle multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining high levels of organisation and efficiency while juggling various tasks and deadlines.
Support for Procurement: Assist the Sales and Buying teams by researching materials, equipment, and labour costs, and obtaining competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
Customer Service Excellence: Address Modular customer queries efficiently, liaising with internal teams to ensure thorough and timely responses.
Skills and Qualifications
Numeracy and Commercial Acumen: Exceptional numeracy skills and a strong understanding of commercial principles, including margins and mark-ups.
Technical Proficiency: Proven experience working with BIM software on Containerised Electrical Plant solutions.
Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present information to clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in estimating, preferably within the modular industry or a related sector.
