We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Sales Manager - GBFI.
Principal Responsibilities
As a Senior Sales Manager, FIG, GPS, you will:
- Drive GPS sales and business development from new and existing GB FI clients, working closely with relationship managers and global sales partners to develop and execute sub-sector strategies and client plans, generate leads and respond to inbound referrals
- Maintain and enhance existing revenue streams and develop new revenue streams by identifying client needs and selling innovative GPS solutions
- Build relationships with Senior Finance, Treasury, Network and Procurement staff within client organizations, leveraging these to build a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
- Create and lead deal teams to manage complex multi-country cash management opportunities
- Produce high quality pitch material and timely responses to RFPs to secure key mandates
- Manage pricing discussions and negotiations, and conduct periodic pricing reviews
- Support the delivery of the broader GPS Financial Metrics – Sales Targets (EBV), Revenues, Liabilities, Fee Income, along with executing any cost reduction initiatives required by the Group
- Coordinate with the Product management team to ensure the development of a market leading proposition for the FI segment
- Work closely with the Implementation and Client Service teams, and other stakeholders, to ensure seamless delivery of solutions and a positive client experience
- Be recognised as a thought leader in FI cash management, leveraging sector expertise to solidify the bank’s position as a leading FI cash bank. This includes producing thought leadership articles and/or case studies, supporting award submissions and organizing client events
- Consistently role model the Sales Manager competencies; providing guidance and coaching to other sales managers and team members where necessary
- Ensure the fair treatment of our customers is at the heart of everything we do, both personally and as an organization. This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviours that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators
Requirements
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in cash management/transaction banking
- Sound knowledge of cash and treasury management practices, and liquidity strategies
- Experience in the FI sector is an advantage but not essential – a desire to become a specialist in the sector is paramount
- Proven track record in business development/sales, and delivering against client needs
- Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and influencing skills. Ability to interact confidently at a senior level with clients and internal stakeholders
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders, navigate through a matrixed management hierarchy and complex, global footprint
- Strong risk management skills and a good understanding of the regulatory framework as relates to cash and liquidity management
