POSITION SUMMARY

As the Senior Sales Manager for the Western Region of the U.S., your primary responsibility is to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth for the company. Your duties include managing and cultivating customer relationships with brokers and retailers to ensure that the company’s products are well represented in the market and sales targets are achieved. You will also be responsible for managing budgets and expenses within your given territory, staying up to date with market trends and consumer demands, and working closely with cross-functional teams to assist with new product introductions and retailer marketing initiatives.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field from an accredited university/college is required, with minimum 8 years of CPG Industry sales and marketing experience.
  • Experienced in conducting meetings with senior buying level customers and managing trade spending and volume.
  • Knowledge of CPG supply chain and customer negotiations, and ability to turn insights into action and solve problems.
  • Must have experience negotiating with and managing distributors, as well as large CPG retailers.
  • Self-starter with a passion for knowledge and action, and strong CPG account management experience with relationship building and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with ability to identify sales opportunities and provide recommendations to gain customer distribution.
  • Able to work independently and with cross-functional teams to meet and set goals.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as company Field Sales Modules, Business Databases, Syndicated Data, and external customer systems as needed.
  • Ability to relate effectively with various levels of management both internal and external.
  • Valid Driver license.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • The individual must possess excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probabilities and statistical inference to forecast annual sales and budget.
  • Ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations and other commonly used business/sales mathematics.
  • Ability to define problems through data gathering and analysis, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret graphs and extensive variety of technical sales instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Develop sales strategies and marketing plans for specified geographic areas to grow current market sales and develop new business through various distribution channels.
  • Advise retailers, brokers, and distributors on sales and advertising execution.
  • Deliver sales presentations and negotiate programming with key clients to implement brand strategies, using consumer insights to guide customer decisions.
  • Manage the business plan to meet volume, profit, and share goals, by leading joint business planning process and developing trade promotion strategies and tactics.
  • Direct sales forecast activities and set performance goals accordingly.
  • Ensure company products are well represented in the market and maximize the results achieved through strong broker guidance and relationship.
  • Monitor market trends, evaluate sales activities, and the competitor activities and products.
  • Assist with product supply forecasting and evaluating new business segments.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and budgets to top management on monthly basis at minimum.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have immediate supervisory role but may carry out supervisory responsibilities according to the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
