Senior Scientist - Molecular biology

The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing and implementing our technology.
This role requires you to work onsite at our laboratory.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• A PhD/MSc level qualification in molecular biology or closely related subject.
• Practical experience in nucleic acid amplification technologies e.g. PCR, RCA; primer design; restriction enzymes and cloning experience.
• Strong experience with DNA purification techniques at varying scales (by using kits, for example).
• Applicants should be well-versed in running restriction digests, agarose gels and gel electrophoresis for DNA analysis.
• Experience in analysing and presenting data is essential.
• Experience using a laboratory tracking system e.g. Benchling

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience in NGS
• Experience with liquid-handling automation, DNA sequencing, fermentation
• Experience working within a Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) environment is advantageous
• Familiarity with ISO/ cGMP industry quality standards is also desirable

• Perform experiments that support the invention of novel technologies
• Work independently to drive research
• Present results at internal company meetings
• Support scientific publications
• Coordinate work across teams to leverage expertise across the company
