Senior Scientist, Tumour Profiling (approximate 12 month FTC)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Life Sciences, or related discipline.
• Substantial and relevant post-graduate experience within academic or industry setting, preferably including an MSc or PhD in a relevant scientific area.
• Experience of histology, in situ hybridisation and imaging laboratory procedures
• Histological skills, such as:

• FFPE Tissue sectioning using microtome

• Immunohistochemistry
• In situ hybridisation (e.g.: RNAscope)
• Experience handling human tissue
• Ability to follow protocols
• Computer literate and ability to familiarise with different IT systems
• Excellent numeracy and English language skills (both written and verbal)
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

• In partnership with senior members of the team, conduct biopsy sample processing and laboratory analysis to enable translational sciences and/or clinical study objectives.
• Analyse, summarise and record experimental results and maintain relevant databases and records
• Participate in group/project meetings and discussions. Contribute to data interpretation and communication, including the scientific content of manuscripts and internal/external presentations
• Contribute to routine lab maintenance
