Description
SAIC Office of Security is currently seeking a Facility Security Officer to support the Oxnard and Ridgecrest, CA location operations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Self-Inspections/Government Inspections as required
- Maintaining compliance with corporate and government manuals
- Corporate and Government database and system of record entry
- Security Awareness Training and Education
- Personnel Security and coordination with the SAIC PERSEC Service Center
- Classification Management
- Interpretation and Training of Security Classification Guidance
- Interpretation and Training on DD-254 security guidance
- Physical Security and coordination with the SAIC PhySEC group
- Coordination with multiple entities related to the active programs with Department of Energy, Customs & Border Patrol, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation, Defense Information Systems Agency, US Air Force & Navy
- Operations Security (OPSEC)
- Site and Program meeting attendance
- Interface with program offices, managers and Senior Military/Corporate leaders
- Maintain a relationship with Government PSOs and DCSA the assigned Industrial Security Representative (ISR)
- Communication to security leadership
- Indoctrination briefings/debriefings and training presentations
- Provide prime/subcontractor security support and direction
- Assist in identifying efficiencies and implement best practices
- Communications Security (COMSEC) coordination
- Assist in writing plans to include concept of operations (CONOPS) and other applicable planning documentation based on requirements

The role of an FSO to coordinating security activities ensuring the security and safety of an organization’s assets, personnel, and information are in compliance with Corporate and NISPOM 32 CFR, Part 117. Here are some key responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management: As FSO, you will be responsible for assisting in leading and managing a security program to ensure corporate and USG compliance. This includes setting goals, assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, and evaluating team performance.
Security Strategy and Planning: You will be responsible for assisting in developing and implementing security strategies, policies, and procedures to protect the organization’s assets and mitigate risks. This involves conducting risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and designing security protocols.
Incident Response and Crisis Management: In the event of security incidents or emergencies, you will assist the team in responding effectively and efficiently. This includes coordinating with relevant stakeholders, conducting investigations, and implementing corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
Security Operations: You will assist in oversee the day-to-day security operations, including physical security measures, access control systems, surveillance systems, and security patrols. This involves ensuring compliance with security protocols and standards.
Collaboration and Communication: As FSO, you will collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to address security concerns, provide security awareness training, and promote a culture of security within the organization. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying security policies, procedures, and updates to the team and other stakeholders.
Risk Management: You will be responsible for assisting in identifying potential security risks and implementing risk mitigation strategies. This includes conducting security audits, evaluating security technologies, and staying updated on emerging security threats and trends.
Overall, the role of an FSO is to provide leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to ensure the organization’s security posture is robust and aligned with industry best practices.
Travel: Due to the need to have oversight of the program and security posture, you will be required to visit the Ridgecrest, CA site on a quarterly basis to ensure compliance of the 32 CFR, Part 117 and SAIC Security Practices. Additionally, you will also be required to be on-site during advanced knowledge of extended classified visits by our customers. You will be required to train the local Senior Management Official (SMO) so they may handle the day-to-day security requirements and assist, should the need arises. Travel costs associated with this official travel will be reimbursed IAW SAIC Travel Policy i.e. Hotel, Mileage and PerDiem.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum six (6) years of related experience; Four (4) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
- Experience with Closed Area and classified systems
- Must be a US Citizen
- Active Top Secret U.S. Government security clearance and the ability to maintain this clearance
- 3-5 years of FSO experience in government and/or industrial security
- Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) FSO certification with possessing curriculum
- Comprehensive knowledge of the design and execution of security programs in accordance with 32 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Part 117/NISPOM
- Familiarity with DoD 5205.07
- Proficient in understanding Intelligence Community Directives with an emphasis on ICD-705 (Physical Security)
- Ability to manage time, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions
- High degree of professionalism and attention to detail
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
