As a large, FTSE100 organisation effective cyber security and resilience is vital for maintaining customer, employee, regulatory and shareholder confidence and safe conduct of our business operations
As a senior security architect, you will play an integral part in the defining and assessing of Severn Trent’s security strategy, architecture and practices. We’ll look for you to lead a team of security architects and partner business and technical teams, with the prime function to effectively translate business objectives and risk management strategies into solutions enabled by technologies and processes.
In this newly created role, you will be reporting directly to the Enterprise Security Architect (ESA) and will be required to deputise at stated times
This is a diverse and challenging role and will require you to have substantial people, stakeholder and technical skills, as well as the ability to work under considerable pressure in a fast paced, regulated environment.

Other key accountabilities include:-

  • Develops and maintains security solutions that enable the enterprise to develop and implement effective security services and capabilities that are clearly aligned with business, technology and threat drivers
  • Develops and maintains security architecture and secure-by-design artefacts and standards that can be used to leverage security capabilities in projects and operations.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between the enterprise security architect and the security architects and coordinates with system owners, project managers, delivery teams and wider business stakeholders on the planning and management of security architecture engagements and deliverables.

Responsibilities:

We’re looking for you to have strong strategic planning and communication skills to develop practical security solutions, evaluate the financial costs of recommended technologies and translate complex security-related matters into business terms that are readily understood by colleagues.
. It would also be essential for you to have experience in using architecture methodologies such as SABSA, Zachman and/or TOGAF.
We’d also like you to have experience in information security management systems and ideally a working knowledge of the methodologies to conduct risk assessments and threat-modeling exercises on applications and services. Experience of securing the deployment of applications and infrastructure into cloud services and experience in designing IAM technologies would be massively beneficial.
