The Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) Signals Engineering’s mission is looking to enhance research, detection and protection against attacks on Microsoft & customers by codifying Microsoft Security Research’s analytical expertise at-scale, generating signals to extend our global threat coverage and advanced collaboration with Microsoft product, research and defender teams. Our threat intelligence analysts provide unique insights on threats to protect Microsoft and our customers, underpinned by at-scale analysis of billions of security signals. We are looking for an innovative “Senior Security Engineer” who understands the threat landscape and can translate security insights from our analysts into real-world code processing a range of threat intelligence-related signals. You will work closely with analysts and other security researchers to deliver intelligence-focused solutions providing additional data, artefacts, and analysis to enable our adversary pursuit mission.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
5+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection
OR Master’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
5+ years development experience with skills in a mix of C/C++, C# and scripting languages (Python/PowerShell/JS)
Experience in testing, deploying and supporting large real-time scale services on Azure, AWS or similar environments
Knowledge of post-breach compromise domain including methods for reconnaissance, persistence, lateral movement and data exfiltration across both on-premises and cloud environments

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
6+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection
OR Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field
Proficient cross group and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the business need for security and technical improvements
Security Research IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across Canada is CAD $108,100 - CAD $199,700 per year.
