REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Armed/Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training Or
- Upon hire: Oregon Private Security Unarmed Professional - Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.
- Valid Driver’s License upon hire.
- Private Security Temporary Work Permit PS-20 upon hire.
- 1 year Experience using personal computer with standard Microsoft applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Coursework/Training College level coursework in professionally related fields such as criminal justice, social work, psychology or any social science.
- 1 year Security/law enforcement experience such as corrections, police, reserve and military police.
- Direct patient care experience in a healthcare industry.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Coursework/Training Successful completion of one of the following:
- Certified law enforcement academy, such as corrections, police, reserve or military police, or Completion of certified military training. or
- Healthcare Security Officer Advanced or Supervisor Certification through IAHSS.
- Coursework/Training Successful completion of 5 additional FEMA Emergency Management Institute Courses from Security Services Approved Course List.

Receives general direction from the Security Manager, Supervisor or Lead Security Officer, performs a variety of security protective duties to protect patients, visitors, staff, physicians, property and facilities from accidents, bodily harm, fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Enforces PH&S, facility and security policies and regulations. Investigate reports of potential criminal conduct against PH&S staff, visitors, staff, and property; respond and assist in restraining patients; detain individuals when necessary or at the direction of a police officer; and provide protective services to high risk areas. Mobile positions will conduct vehicle and foot patrols, patient transports, site surveys, threat assessments, patient standbys, alarm/nuisance call response, special details and assist in training of clinic personnel. May be required to support any Providence or affiliated organizations within the Oregon Region.
