Queensland Rail’s Telecommunications Engineering team are seeking an experienced Senior Electronic Security Support Officer to join their team.
This is a Permanent Full Time Brisbane-based opportunity.

EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF EQUIPMENT AND APPLICATIONS WILL BE HIGHLY DESIRED.

• Tecom and Challenger security alarm panels and programming.
• Intrepid Fence detection systems
• Commend Intercom GE800 server.
• Commend VirtoSIS servers.
• Axis IP cameras, FLIR Thermal cameras
• Forcefield Access control system.
• DVRs, NVRs, RAIDs, UPS and station PCs.
• Tunnel intrusion and detection cameras, video motion detection, radar, thermal and supporting analytics.
• Milestone VSMS

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates with a blend of technical expertise and hold a current ACMA License and/or current QLD Security License are strongly encouraged to apply.
Whilst this role is predominantly performed within a corporate environment in Brisbane, there will also be opportunities to travel to sites within Queensland.
This role does involve a moderate amount of after-hours work and a one week in two on call roster, penalty rates are provided for the call-out roster (shared across the team) and overtime opportunities.

ABOUT THE ROLE AND WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU WILL BRING:

This role will see you manage and co-ordinate all aspects the Electronic Security maintenance contract as well as capital projects from concept, development, specification, estimation, planning, construction, testing and commissioning and post commissioning support.
As Senior Security Support Officer you will be responsible for ensuring all standards and procedures are documented in accordance with Queensland Rail’s principles.

SOME OF THE KEY FOCUS AREAS FOR THIS ROLE INCLUDES:

• Setting and documenting performance standards for telecommunications CCTV and Security systems applicable to Queensland Rail.
• Managing and supervising telecommunications CCTV and Security systems projects including all aspects of contracts administration.
• Meeting statutory, regulatory and policy obligations, particularly in relation to satisfy the safety, environment, contract processes and human resource requirements in a commercially focused business.
• Managing external contractors.
• Substantial level of skill in providing training and development in modern telecommunications CCTV and security systems for Queensland Rail technical staff.
• Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication, presentation and negotiation.
• Economically adapting new CCTV / Security technologies applicable to the railway environment.
