Your Team
We are seeking a Senior Service Designer to join ASIC’s Human Centered Design Hub (HCD). This hub, part of ASIC’s Digital, Data & Technology Office, focuses on creating digital products for our customers. Working closely with product owners, project managers, and business teams, you will design and develop user-friendly solutions that improve technology, processes, and policies throughout the organization.

Your role

  • You will become part of a team that is passionate about providing high quality internal service to our stakeholders and collaboration partners & creating solutions with and for users, people and businesses in mind. You will be accountable for
  • Influencing and supporting the direction of a program of work, continually advocating for the user to recommend desirable solutions, using data and insights to support the direction
  • Managing projects with other designers and internal stakeholders
  • Directing the conceptualisation and design solutions from idea to completion for the project being led, supporting a human-centered design methodology at ASIC to provide creative, innovative and appropriate solutions to business and user challenges
  • Planning the design scope, approach, and outcomes identifying relevant best practices and drawing design inspiration from the broader community, industry and marketplace.
  • Demonstrating a deep familiarity with data, insights, findings and ongoing decisions, and assisting with identifying changes to planned activities

About you

  • 7 - 10+ years’ experience within digital product design
  • Bachelor/ Master of Design or equivalent/related is highly regarded but not necessary.
  • Have a proven record of delivering concepts to market.
  • Proven record in practising HCD methodology and a true passion to solve problems
  • Provide integration on technical, professional and policy advice and support in relation to the design of products and services
  • Drive innovative approaches to design techniques, enabling the design team to embrace different angles to a design problem
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to advocate for change – moving towards delivery that is user-led, and driven by desirability with reference to viability and feasibility
  • Strong skills in leading a team’s research, discussions and ideas into conceptual designs, and guide ensuing discussions to drive to a strong design that reflects user and business needs
