As a Senior Service Engineer on our Site Infrastructure Compute and Storage Engineering team, you’ll play a crucial role in preempting threats and maintaining the health and reliability of our services. In this role within the Infrastructure & Engineering Services team, you will leverage the latest technologies with a focus on security, identity, and automation, empowering Microsoft employees with the tools and services that define both the physical and digital future of work. You will also be responsible for administering on-premises Hyper-converged Infrastructure (HCI) servers within our private, air-gapped cloud that hosts critical internal services supporting the entire engineering community at Microsoft.
This role facilitates hybrid work, with the on-site work being based at the Redmond, WA headquarters.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical experience in service engineering
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience with security, identity, and automation.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in Active Directory, Group Policy, and Certificate Authorities/PKI.
  • Understanding of security protocols, authentication, and authorization methods.
  • Experience with automation tools and frameworks.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Relevant certifications in security and systems engineering are a plus.
    Service Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
