Job Description
The Senior Services Technician is responsible for the effective implementation of day-to-day operations at NEXTDC’s facilities across our NSW facilities. This includes supporting Services Managers with operational and maintenance activities to ensure critical infrastructure is maintained using best practices, upholding the Uptime Operational Sustainability Gold standard, and delivering services to the highest standards in line with NEXTDC’s brand promise. Additionally, you will actively contribute to the training and development of junior facility staff, fostering their growth and enhancing their expertise.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Good knowledge of all aspects of data centres including electrical and mechanical configurations, rack management, design and installation
  • Understanding of high-density data centre power, cooling approaches and technologies
  • Good knowledge of cabling & cable management and quality inspection / assurance
  • Knowledge of various codes and regulations applicable
  • Experience with building management and monitoring systems
  • Exceptional planning, organising and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and effective interpersonal skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years’ experience in data centre facilities or similar critical infrastructure
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Telecommunications or Mechanical trade (HVAC/Air conditioning), or similar

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting Services Managers in overseeing the operation and maintenance of critical infrastructure supporting the facility and our brand promises
  • Assisting People Managers in training and the development of new facility staff members
  • Participation in the on-call roster
  • Assist in preparation for regular audits across our NSW facilities
  • Ensure that facilities issues/problems are identified and resolved in a timely manner
  • Perform regular testing of relevant core equipment and documentation of those results and procedures in cooperation with Services Managers
  • Support the currency and version control of the site reference library (SWIs, EOPs, Policy Documents, As-builts etc) in line with document review processes
