Job Description
Great Bear have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Senior shift Manager to join the team! As Senior Shift manager you will lead the team in delivering exceptional service to our customers while coaching and developing your team. You will need to plan, organise, direct and control Team Leaders and their shifts to deliver customer and business objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to demonstrate existing experience at this level or similar within the 3PL or wider logistics sector.
- Previous experience in managing volume profiles that contain significant peaks and a level of promotional activity.
- Experience as part of an operational start up or larger supply chain projects also advantageous.
- Ability to think and work both strategically and operationally.
- Evidence of team management and development.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to converse at all levels, internally and externally.
- Demonstrable change management abilities
- Fast moving, high service level environments

Responsibilities:
- Ensure high Health and Safety standards are maintained within your team and site.
- Ensure all accidents & incidents are thoroughly investigated, reported and escalated.
- Review all Risk Assessments and SSOW’s are reviewed in order to prevent incidents in the workplace.
- Ensure compliance and policy standards are adhered to at all times. Support in highlighting any training needs to the Senior Shift Manger.
- Plan, manage and review resource levels to meet operational requirements across all customers on site.
- Set and agree clear targets in line with KPI’s that deliver productivity and accuracy levels that meet customer and business expectations.
- Work with fellow managers to drive improvements across all KPIs from operational & customers.
- Support cost saving initiatives both on site and within the wider business.
- Investigate Accidents and incidents to ensure root cause is identified and action taken to prevent re-occurrence.
- Ensure compliance to all standard operating procedures, including stock control and accuracy.
- Ensure MHE on site is operated correctly.
- Ensure that the workplace is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
- Deputize for Distribution Centre Manager when required.
- Managing Absence – Liaise with your team to ensure all absence from work is managed using company procedure
- Deliver Team member performance reviews.
- Training, recruitment / succession planning.
- Facilitate effective communication.
