Description:

We are looking for a highly dynamic clinical manager ideally with Junior Sister experience and a background of SACT, haematology-oncology and Stem cell transplant experience.
Bud Flanagan East Ward comprises of 16 single, en suite rooms, providing a protected environment for adult patients who require intensive chemotherapy and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about haemato-oncology and stem cell transplant nursing, with the vision and passion to help optimise high quality patient care. They will use clinical expertise, leadership and management skills to ensure co-ordination of the care of patients with a Haemato-oncology malignancy, providing a seamless service for patients and their families.
They will be responsible for providing strong proactive leadership of the nursing and support worker team, which is motivating, supportive whilst upholding the trust’s values of pioneering change, pursuing excellence, working collaboratively, and showing kindness.
Manage a co-ordinated nursing service in liaison with all members of the multi-disciplinary team maximising high quality patient care.
To maintain clinical credibility through practice and to utilise the findings of nursing research and evidence-based care to optimise high quality patient care.
To monitor and review nursing practice regularly, participating in audits which must include documentation in accordance with Trust policy and NMC Guidelines

Within the framework of Primary Team Nursing, to maintain the continuity of quality nursing care that responds flexibly to patients’ and carers’ needs and includes a safe discharge to the community or relevant care setting.
Monitoring of trends and prevalence’s of clinical incidents according to the Trust’s Clinical Governance
Guidance and Directives and develop strategies to prevent them reoccurring.
To undertake first level assessment of the needs of the patient and family. Planning, delivering and evaluating their care throughout their stay from admission to discharge/transfer including complex care packages e.g. discharge of a post allogeneic transplant patient
