Job Description
As the Senior Sleep Technologist you would be expected to read and interpret highly complex sleep investigations including polysomnography, polygraphy, oximetry, Maintenance of Wakefulness Tests, and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests. You would be expected to deliver and communicate these results in a simple way, using developed interpersonal and communication skills, to patients and carers, explaining the implication of results and how they affect patient symptoms bearing in mind the impact on the person and their family, their future health, the impact on the NHS, and legal obligations. Assess the implication of test results on public safety according to the DVLA, the Civil Aviation Authority, potential risk during anaesthesia. Communicate specialist information orally and in written format to local, national and international groups with a diverse specialist base, including consultants within the Respiratory Department.
Job Description

Qualifications

  • MSc in Clinical Physiology / equivalent work experience
  • Professional registration (HCPC) or equivalent
  • Three years experience as Specialist Sleep Practitioner
  • Knowledge of DVLA guidelines and ability to engage with other Health and Safety occupational bodies
  • Leadership, management and training experience
