Description:
Senior Social Value Manager
Willmott Dixon is seeking a passionate and engaging social value lead to support our Northern Construction business. Leading a team of social value professionals, you will drive social value delivery mostly in Yorkshire and the Northeast, across Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield.
The role includes supporting the delivery of our ambitious Now or Never Sustainability Strategy and working closely with customers and our supply chain partners.
You will join our award-winning multidisciplinary Sustainability Team and report to the Regional Sustainability Lead. This role is flexible in location allowing you to be based in the Northeast with hybrid working encouraged. The role will require frequent travel to our Leeds office and occasional planned travel to our Manchester and Newcastle offices.
You will thrive in this role if you have an in-depth understanding of social value delivery (not necessarily in the construction industry) along with tender bidding and a customer focused approach to shaping and implementing social value solutions. You will also be a strategic and creative thinker. This position would suit someone who has experience in leading a team, delivering social value outcomes in a fast-paced environment, can inspire, loves networking, and has a passion to support the people and businesses in our communities to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Supports work winning through bid support, innovation, customer and sector insights.
- Reinforces delivery of a customer first approach to Social Value planning and delivery across all projects.
- Ensures achievement of project and Company social value targets.
- Ensures internal and external compliance across all projects.
- Proactively disseminates social value expertise and provide leadership, guidance, and training to key people.
- Manages the marketing and communication of social value achievements.
- Cultivates a culture with all our people so that they understand the role they need to play in leaving a legacy and harnessing their ideas into deliverables.
- Identifies networking opportunities and play an active role in attending and presenting at an industry level to ensure we are seen to be market leaders.
- Line management and leadership of the Social Value Team.
- Manages the allocation of social value resources.
Essential and Desirable Criteria
Essential
- Able to use Microsoft suite of office programmes including Excel, Word, Outlook and Project.
- Good level of education including Maths and English (both written and spoken).
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Facilitation/Coaching experience or training.
- Social Sustainability related qualifications.
