ABOUT THIS JOB

This is a really exciting time to come and join the Adolescent team providing a multidisciplinary response to the range of exploitative situations faced by some of the most vulnerable children in our borough. The team includes social workers, a family therapist, missing children coordinators, young women and girls worker and an NRM ( National referral mechanism )coordinator and is supported by colleagues from our Youth at Risk Matrix team ( Targeted early intervention ). The team sits alongside the Youth Justice Service to create a joined up targeted response which supports us in having a holistic focus on the young person. Within the borough we use a relational , trauma informed approach to engage our children and young people, and caseloads and processes within the team have been set in a way that recognises that building meaningful relationships takes time. As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to supervise and support a newly qualified and student social workers. For those wanting to take their first step into management this is an ideal opportunity as you will be closely supported and supervised by an experienced Team Manager . You will also be responsible for undertaking complex assessments and managing a reduced caseload that reflects your supervisory responsibilities. You will have a passion for working with vulnerable adolescents who need someone who is both tenacious and compassionate . SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS POST

We welcome applications from qualified and experienced candidates. You will need to have a Social Work degree or DipSW, completed your ASYE and have three years post qualifying experience. You should also hold or be willing to work toward your Practice Educators Award. You will need to hold a current Social Work England registration. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and a comprehensive screening process will be undertaken on successful applicants including an Enhanced Children’s Department of Barring Services check.
