OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to individuals and families in need. You will play a crucial part in assessing client needs, developing intervention plans, and advocating for the well-being of your clients. This position also involves supervising and mentoring junior social workers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide effective support.

SKILLS

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective documentation and reporting.
• Proven experience in supervising and mentoring staff within a social work setting.
• Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations and develop appropriate interventions.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also being self-motivated.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social work.
• Empathy, patience, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations or behaviours.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients’ needs, strengths, and challenges.
• Develop and implement tailored intervention plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
• Provide direct support and counselling to clients facing various social, emotional, and financial issues.
• Monitor client progress and adjust intervention strategies as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
• Supervise and mentor junior social workers, offering guidance on case management and professional development.
• Collaborate with other professionals, agencies, and community resources to ensure holistic support for clients.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, assessments, and progress in accordance with organisational policies.
• Stay informed about relevant legislation, best practices, and emerging trends in social work to enhance service delivery.
